Life Jacket Safety

Read before use.

HOUND life jackets are designed to assist buoyancy for dogs in water. They are not life-saving devices.

Important Safety Information

Dogs must be actively supervised at all times when wearing a life jacket. Life jackets do not prevent drowning. Fit must be checked before every use. Do not rely on a life jacket in rough water, fast currents, or hazardous conditions. Introduce your dog to the jacket gradually and in shallow water.

Proper Fit

A correctly fitted life jacket should be snug but not restrictive, secure around the neck and chest, allow full front-leg movement, and position the dog’s head above water when floating.

Usage Limitations

HOUND life jackets are not designed for unattended use, tethering, lifting dogs for extended periods, use as a restraint device, or use beyond the dog’s swimming ability or conditioning.

Owner Responsibility

The dog owner is solely responsible for correct sizing and fit, monitoring fatigue and stress, and ensuring conditions are suitable for water activity.

No product can eliminate risk. Equipment is a support tool, not a substitute for supervision or judgement.
